Greetings and a question

Hello all!
I've been playing this game on & off since 2001 & I swear, overall it's still the best motorbike racing game I've played ... out of the box

I'm been having issues with the AI though ... too slow on some tracks and WAY too fast on others. I don't mind if it's realistic but on REAL level, they're lapping Kyalami 6 seconds slower than the record & Phillip Island 3 seconds faster ...!

So I've figured out how to 'hack' the times in the track.mix files & have even found an awesome online source for the data ... the question I have is -

What is fMaxSpeed? Or more precisely, how do we calculate it?

Been thinking about it ... I'm guessing it's a % of top speed, so I assume % of top speed of bike rather than top speed of track ...? Maybe

Hmm and another thing - I don't know where they got their information from over at Milestone but Aaron Slight didn't even compete in 2000, let alone 2001. But then if they're using the data from 1999 what is Simon Crafar doing in there

hi.
i think that the parameter fMaxSpeed can only change maximum spedd of bikes. instead, i found a parameter inside "Tyres" file, while 'i'm working on physics, that can modifiy the performance of AI. but there are 2 main problems:
-this parameter influences all the tyres, u're ones too. So if u change it, u've to change all other parameters of the tyre too.
-second thing it's that this parameter is always the same for all tracks. that's why sometimes AI are incredibly fast and sometimes they are very slowly. all depends from the trajectories that AI follow in each track. we should modify them, not the AI performance(that means acceleration, ma speed and braking space).
that's why i said that to do a really good physics we should have a different "Tyres" file for each track.

That seems to be the case. At Kyalami, I got the AI doing 380kph top speed & lapping about 1:40.00 on real
So it makes a small difference for sure
