Problem with updated track textures

Dear all,

I have installed all available track texture updates from membres.lycos.fr/motoracingdownloads/modules.php?name=Downloads, for example Monza and Valencia.

When viewing the new textures (mostly ad boards) from a distance I can still see only the old default textures. When driving nearer the new textures slowly blend in and finally replace the old textures. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Hi, you will find that it is skiders track updates that are like that,
he only added the large files not the smaller ones too,
he has rectified it and i will get them uploaded as a track pack.
So dont worry its nothing wrong in your pc.

Thanks for the fast answer! I will try it then when the new textures are ready. But I think I noticed it also in Monza, which was done by DucFreak I think.

I have tested Monza through and through, with mipmaps on and off,
1000 and 200 view depth, low and high track and textures.
If it is the advertising boards that you are talking about Ducfreak
did not change any of those, he gave us lush new grass,gravel, tarmac
and great new trees to crash in to .

I installed your new trackpack of skiders tracks. They are ok now. Thanks :-)

Monza: I am not sure about the ads. They could be ok. But I definitely noticed blending textures on this "bridge" in the forest on this long high speed straight. The textures are blending from a framework to windows (or vice-versa.) I will try to make a screenshot.

I've downloaded the textures and they are really good ;D. Absolutly no problem, i have not noticed anything with monza so it must be a very small problem rider2001 . Would a hockenheim update b too much work? lol

Here you can see windows textures, which are blended in when driving nearer to the bridge:





On the left side in the middle of the blue-white wall the nearer you drive the more accurate the textures are. In the distance the wall appears quite "simple" while in the foreground, the wall is more defined:

Put Mipmaps to on and increase view depth.

Hmm, view depth was already set to max and I put Mipmaps on but it didn't make any difference.

What do you see when you are approaching the bridge in Monza? Windows from the beginning on? Or a plain wall?

Interesting! I wonder which other settings could influence this strange texture behaviour. I may have to experiment with my ATI's settings...
